MEDICINE (a play about ayahuasca), Firehall, Jan. 3-13

Gabor Maté is a well-known Vancouver physician, who started out in family medicine, moved to palliative care, and then to addiction medicine especially in the Downtown East Side. This play sounds fascinating–I am quite sorry to miss it. The Jan. 9 matinee is pay-what-you-can.

Trying to understand ourselves and our motivations is a life-long journey. In this one man show written and performed by Fringe favourite TJ Dawe, the playwright shares his funny, at times heartbreaking and enlightening experience with Gabor Maté, the Amazonian psychotropic plant medicine ayahuasca, group therapy and his path to introspection.

There will be talkbacks after each performance of Medicine. Famed addictions physician Dr. Gabor Maté joins TJ Dawe in a select number of post-show talkbacks: January 3, 4, 5 (after the 5pm performance), 11 and 12 (after the 5pm performance).
