The Gay Mafia, at Jericho Arts Centre, Jan. 2 – 12

Sounds like a light-hearted farce, with part of the ticket proceeds going to Out in Schools, which seeks to end bullying of LGBT youth in schools. The Jan. 2 preview show is 2-for-1 (regular price $20), and the family matinee on Jan. 6 is $12.

Things are going to get fabulously nasty as the Gay Mafia is thrown into turmoil when The Don announces his intent to step down. The Gay Mafia is a wildly fun and unpredictable comedy with music!

A popular late night hit in 2007 at the Waterfront Theatre the show has been expanded and now stars the award winning queer comedy troupe The Bobbers. Check out their web-site at

“Back in 2007, we were a small group of queer identified improvisers just trying to get some stage time. Since then we have played a festival across BC, had a TV series on Out TV and won an award from Xtra West for Best in Entertainment.” says artistic director David C Jones.

Popular improvisational artist and Artistic Associate Director at the Vancouver TheatreSports Pearce Visser plays the Don and every performance features a diverse collection of 6 members. Only a battle of wits and timing will determine the winner.
