3 Artistic Events at SFU Woodward’s This Weekend, Feb. 15-17

Exciting weekend here with THREE visual art events and cultural partners!

We start with a co-presentation with Artspeak of Invisible Violence, a publication and discursive project guest-curated by Liz Park. In conjunction with the launch will be a talk by Victoria-based artist Marianne Nicolson. Join us for a very interesting evening at 7:30 pm in the Djavad Mowafaghian World Art Centre on the 2nd floor. (Free)

On Saturday afternoon at 2pm, the Vancouver Art Gallery, with the support of SFU’s Vancity Office of Community Engagement, is bringing in Pulitzer-prize winner comix novelist Art Spiegelman to deliver the Heller Lecture (tickets via the VAG)

THEN, on Saturday night, the Or Gallery presents Clamour and Toll: Dreams in collaboration with SFU Woodward’s and SFU’s Vancity Office of Community Engagement.

An evening of sound and image, Clamour and Toll: Dreams presents a selection of refined audio-visual performances. From harsh and austere through the spectrum to the brightest rainbow, each solo performer will create an immersive world of improvised sound and projected video. Prepare for an abstract dream, and a surreal revelation. Free admission. 7:30 start time.
